NATIVE BEES

Bees native to the suburban southeast such as the Blue Orchard Mason Bee (Osmia lignaria) and the Leaf-cutter Bee (Megachilidae) are exceptional pollinators. In fact, they are 120 times more effective at pollinating blossoms than European Honeybees. 

Native bees are easy to raise, gentle toward humans (do not sting!) and fascinating to watch as they build their nests.
